how do I identify the block type of a 425 / 455 ?
And are any better than others ?
My engine rebuilder says the first 455 I gave him is stuffed, but before I let him scrap it I thought I had better ask

If the motor is stock to the car, I don't think it's a 455. I have no info on a 455 before 1968.
But I could tell you what block you have, if you believe it's a 1967. The only info I have on big blocks in 67 are as follows
1966-67 [390925 block]
1966-67 [389244 block]
1967 [390925 block w/.375 drill spot]
1967 [389244 block w/.203 drill spot]
1967 [389244 block w/.375 drill spot]
