Help ID .921 lifters

Still sorting 66-67 Olds parts collection.

Need help to confirm what lifters I have.

A box that everything was in was labeled .941 lifters, but from what I'm reading should be .921?

The sealed power federal mogul part number references early 400 lifters, but GM part numbers pre 64 then skip to 66-67 400.

I see many threads about poorly made lifters.

I'm asking the group if both kinds are actually .921 lifters for early 400 and if either of them are good quality.

Thanks

Mader

The parts book shows the same 0.921" lifters for the first-gen 371/394 motors and the 66-67 motors. The Sealed Power lifters are their replacement for the OEM parts, so should be equivalent. I would not hesitate to use Sealed Power parts.

Selling? The machine shop has finished rebuilding my 400, except for installing new lifters. The shop said they can not get 0.921 lifters. Thank you.

For those asking, I'll be taking a variety of 66-67 Olds parts to Homecoming swap meet in Lansing.

The factory original ones can be refaced. Send the bodies to Mizpah, they’ll do the correct crown

Put the original guts back in to the original bodies…good to go

Any idea on cost of resurfacing lifters?

it was dirt cheap because I didn’t want them to do all the work. I sent the bodies only.

maybe $125?

I’ll check my receipts

If you send 16 complete lifers to them it’s expensive..they have to strip each one down , mark each internal piece to each body

its time consuming

they did have a quick turnaround.

i sent an original new body and told them to make the crown the same. I do polish them myself after and bake on a moly coat for extra insurance

Hylft .921

I just bought these from Johnson maybe 6 months ago. I paid $400 for the set for my 67 425.

got 48 lifters done at $2.75 for $132.00 one time and 16 another time for $2.50 a piece for $40.00

a few years ago.. Covid probably upped that price but still a good deal. Those were all factory GM hard face bottom .921” lifters, which are the best

How did you mark each body so you could match it up with internals?

I will bring my 3 sets of lifters - 1 GM & 2 Sealed Power, as seen in my pics, to Homecoming.

the GM 5232435 lifters are.921” uesd in early Oldsmobile 400 engines, some Toronado 425, 1957-1964 371 & 394. They are original equipment.
I’d be interested in purchasing these if you don’t have a use for them
