Help with cam/valve spring selection.

I could use some advice and or suggestions on a motor I am putting together. It is .030 over with "D" heads, cast iron intake, quadrajet carb, WZ exhaust, turbo 400 trans, 3.23 rear, air car. The valve springs were already installed when I purchased the heads. I am looking for a cam to give me similar performance to a stock '69 H/O.

I found a Comp Cam Factory Muscle hydraulic camshaft kit that's states it is a direct replacement for stock GM camshafts. It is listed for a '68 H/O. Any thoughts?

I also need to know if the springs would need to be replaced based on the cam.

Thanks, Tim

If you don't know what part number the springs are then you need to pull a couple off and measure them.

well the 69 HO is like the holy grail around here, SO are you looking for an "original air in the spare tire" type of cam or something that will make that 400 sing? Mark^^^ knows what he's talking about. most cams like a certian seat preasure.
