Hedman shorty headers
#4
Yes Joe , those are the ones I am speaking of . I wanted to know if they will work in an A-body . I have a set of long tubes and find them to be just a mess . The fact that you have to move the brake distribution block , cause heat issues with the starter , also grab anything on the road due to hanging so low tends to displease me to no end . I was hoping these can be used as an upgrade to manifolds on a basic street/strip motor .
Given my years of racing and building Mustangs from the past , shorties always made for a nice "middle of the road" upgrade . The HP difference on mild street motors vs long tubes always made up for its self if you ever needed to work on the car .

i'd say that the port height is probably the biggest issue. if you arent averse to doing a little port work with a die grinder they should work fine... the bolt pattern is the same as is the port spacing.
you could check and see if sandersons still offers the p/n 451 shorty for the 455...

I've got $10 that says Hedman uses the same flanges on their BBO and SBO headers.
