Heater control valve

Searched past threads but did not find any that say what to use on the threads of the heater control valve that screws into the rear pass side of the aluminum intake,(if any should be used). The intake is a repop W-30 aluminum and the valve seems to be another type metal that a magnet will stick to. Any suggestions? Thanks

I used teflon tape on mine. Non-hardening thread sealer is fine, too.

Thanks. I think I'll try the Teflon. Nervous about the threads since the old one was hard to get out. Checked the threads though and they seem fine. Thanks again!

Note that an illustration in the Assembly Manual tells you the exact angle you are supposed to clock the valve at.

Thanks Eric. I have that book and found it in there. I did not know that was covered till you mentioned it. Going to have to look at that book thoroughly as I may be missing more stuff. Thanks again!

I used Permatex thread sealant, but I forget which one (they make several that will work). Same stuff I used on the water pump bolts. http://www.permatex.com/products-2/p...hread-sealants
