Headers Advice

My 1965 442 is awaiting a new 455 which is being built and curious on what type of long tube headers recommendations are out there. I looked at American Racing but they are pretty spendy.

would love some recommendations

thanks

I just put American racing on my 76 Cutlass. For as expensive as they are, I wasn’t that impressed. They didn’t fit, I had to make them fit, and flanges weren’t flat. They said they would straighten out after it runs. Overall quality just wasn’t what I would expect for $1400 headers.

Fwiw I did a back to back test on Hooker super comps vs ARH headers on a 600 HP 480 inch BBO. For more than twice the price we got 8 more HP vs the Hookers.
You decide if they’re worth it.

Plenty of info on these forums if you use the search function to assist; here's one that may interest you (don't let the fact that it mentions a 1966 Cutlass deter you as 1965 thru 1967 frames are almost identical):
Here's an interesting read on the subject. Summit has one review on these headers, someone with a 1966 Cutlass. The review was positive.
