Headers for a 70 supreme with a 455

I am after checking a couple of parts place and I get the same answer that they do not have a listing for headers on a 455 for a 70 supreme.

I had headers on a 72 supreme with a 350 ...are there any problems with headers in a 70 with a 455

I believe the year range for a 400 - 455 Cutlass will be the same header from 1965 - 75 or 76. Hooker, Hedman, Cyclone, all have a listing.

Whatever will fit a Cutlass S, will fit a Supreme. There are no differences, this has been a long time thorn in our behinds, the catalogs will never get it right, and they don't care to.

There is one note listed "not for Cutlass S" but I believe that pertains to a SBO! The BBO shows no notes out of the normal - some mods may be necessary ones.

I wish I had a dollar for each time this is brought up. This myth just will not die. We should all put a petition out to all header manufacturer's to put an end to it once and for all. I cant come up with a single reason as to why the myth even exists???
ALL 68-72, A body Olds F85, Cutlass, Cutlass "S", Cutlass Supreme, Hurst, 442, Rallye 350, Ws, 4 door, wagons flat top or Vista even the stray Olds-camino use the same header dimensions....PERIOD! However there is a difference between big block and small block headers due to port size and deck height. There is long tube and short tube etc......off-set NOT!
No offset difference of any kind between Sport backs and Supremes. Id like the header companies to prove it.
Now all that said, some will fit better out-of-the box.
Regardless of what brand of header is installed the brake distribution block and lines will need to be moved to the top of the frame rail.

They are all the same.Cutlass,442,Supreme,etc.They are all the same. It's a real bad myth that the Supremes are different.

I found it odd that the same header company listed multiple pn's for sbo headers for the same model year group! However what I was trying to say was it didn't matter for a bbo.

something not right ???

Ok....I purchased a set of headers ( flotech I think ) from a guy in the classifieds for a cheap price. They were not used however. The box do say 455 Olds and they look like they will bolt on but...

I am doing a frame off resto and only just put the motor back in the frame. A little anxious I just tried to see how the headers will fit but it looks like they will not go on there as there are clearance issues.

I am converting from a 350 to a 455 out of a 1968 delta 88. I am reusing the frame mounts and mounts from teh 350. Am I missing something ??

The fusick catalog sells a part for a 350 to 455 conversion but is that necessary ??

No. You can use both 350 frame and engine mounts or both 455 frame and engine mounts but you CANNOT mix and match. The catalogs won't tell you that, but for engine mounts you buy whatever the CAR had originally, not the motor you're putting in it.

Where are your clearance issues? Some are normal for these cars, like the brake proportioning valve on the frame.

so I decided to go to a manifold....found a set of duals out of a 68 400 and the guy told me they will fit a 455. Are they the same for a 68 455...that will be installed in my 70 supreme
