In the amount of time it took you to post this you could of had it back on. Now wipe the drool off of it, bolt it back on, and let us know how good it works.

carb rebuild

I second that question , how long did it take from when you sent it to be rebuilt untill you got it back? what did it cost ? and most importantly how well does it perform? inquiring minds want to know!

Try Dean Oliver....Deano's Carb Service. He is very good also. I used him on for my Q jet rebuild.

He will set it up right. Great guy to deal with.....

It didn't take a year but I think about 5 months. $425.00 for the rebuild and re-plate a previous owner had drilled a hole in the fuel inlet so it had to be welded that was an extra 80.00 if I wanted it to look stock. He tuned it to OEM specs, I haven't put it on yet my engine it is getting rebuilt.

"drilled a hole in the fuel inlet so it had to be welded that was an extra 80.00"

Okay, I have to ask. Why did he drill a hole in the fuel inlet?

A previous owner drilled the hole, I believe in an attempt to fix the fuel inlet threads as they were stripped. Sparky had it welded and fixed the threads properly.

Oh and I'm in PSL.

Just a quickie explanation here. YOU CAN'T WELD POT METAL! LOL! Somebody counter bored the inlet and threw in a compression O-ring fitting thread/inlet fix....the KISS OF DEATH! That person also drilled a hole into the inlet snout with a self tapping screw to index/keep the fitting from popping out....very poor repair and also bush league. It was a MESS! Before I heli-coiled the inlet, I re-tapped the hole and used a stainless steel screw to seal the hole with sealer. Then trimmed off the screw head, tapped the 7/8 20 and inserted the heli-coil. I also faced the nose and now is absolutely tight! I took before pictures and will post.

Inlet Repair

Damn....I can't find any pics of the tear down.... I'm just way too busy to take pictures while I'm working lately. But, you can clearly see the repair after plating that I am talking about here. Trust me, I brought this puppy back from the dead!
