G block markings

G block

I have a few G blocks One is from a 1968 W30 it has F3 68 on the Back or the engine My other are all F2 68 What does that Mean ?

I have 3 g blocks on the back of 2 it has f2 68 and on one it has f3 68 what does this mean ? Is it nickle content ?

They are casting codes, but don't really have a significance. The idea that some blocks have a higher nickel content has been around for years. But its been found to be an old wives tale.

Absolutely nothing. Contrary to what you may read on the web, the "F" numbers on the back of the block do not indicate nickel content. They simply refer to different, minor changes to the casting configuration. The are meaningless.
