Flexplate balance weight???

Still my first rebuild, be gentle. Tomorrow I will be putting my reworked BB back in my Cutlass. When I lift it off the stand I will reinstall and torque the flexplate down. So I now see a counterweight (see pic) on the edge of the flexplate I didn't notice when I pulled it off. Does the plate/weight need to be in a specific orientation when it goes back on? It seems the counterweight should be countering something, or it will be out of balance? Have I screwed myself? Is there a correct orientation when it's bolted back on? Thanks in advance.

The bolt holes should only line up in the correct location.

That's it!

Thank you. I just measured the holes and they are all a little differently spaced, a sixteeth here and an eigth there, with only one way it will go. You sir are a steely eyed rocket man!
