engine swap 403

Hello
can anyone offer recommendations on a swap out 403 in a 1979 Trans Am, swap in Olds 425
wondering if the current mounts will work?

The current mounts work fine. The BBO has a taller deck height than the SBO. The F-body accessory brackets for an Olds motor are unique to that application and are designed for an SBO only. You will likely need to modify them to accommodate the taller deck on the 425. No other Oldsmobile applications use brackets compatible with the F-body accessory locations. The taller deck also means that you'll need different exhaust manifolds or headers and resulting changes in the exhaust system. The taller motor will also impact fitment of the shaker scoop.

I’d seriously consider rebuilding the 403 if you’re looking for more power.

I did a 455 swap in a 80 T/A years ago. I used a G body power steering and alternator brackets. I don’t recall any other issues with the engine install.
