'71 is the same as '68-70. With the KA heads and the pad stamping, this is more than likely a marine application. KA heads were service replacements as well.

Marine haha! Your kidding?
Wow interesting
Ok ok as long as it runs i guess i cannot complain he lowered the price by $7k for it not being the original engine so that was cool i guess.

I got some GM fender emblems with it also pair and a brand, new alternator and starter and a solenoid & extra tail lights and some Mopar seatbelts were in there.

Love to see an original steel hood, hope you keep it, looks like all you need is the missing stone shield partial stripe, and a ‘71 rocket in place of the ‘72.

Wish my top fit as well, great find, enjoy!

No, I'm not. 455's were used in Jet boats. Agriculture use as well. Car looks solid. Looks like Sandlewood paint.

The marine engines are good engines. There’s nothing wrong with Ka heads. I think you will be happy with it either way. I believe you got a good deal.

Here's a listing with some photos of an Oldsmobile irrigation unit - looks like Ka heads on it.
If you have a tractor you might need one of these.
