We just had an amazing weekend at the races this weekend. Hung out with Tony at the races and had dinner and a cigar every day after he ran. He had about 2 hours to kill waiting for his flight so he came over and hung out at the house. My 4 year old hasn't met him yet (he was 1 when we met Tony) and brought him a model of the dragster for him to sign.

Pretty cute, although the reason he came to our house was to escape the fans haha...fun times!

I just realized that too - musta been some other kid - I was just there to deliver a pizza!!
Still - an experience! Came outa there grinning from ear to ear!

 

My 64 year old dad used to build models of Top Fuel and Funny cars back in those days. He always wanted to see them run in person but they really only raced in California. It's funny to hear him ask me about Tony and DSR in general...he gets giddy.

My experience with the pro circuit is so much different than what he knows. He dreamed of seeing them run, I'm sitting in the crew car pulling the dragster through the pits and then watching the run from the end of the track. It's such a different experience watching them come towards you at 320 mph rather than go away from you like in the stands. Pretty cool.

 

He hasnt been on this site since his last post here... Hurt feelings I bet. Or maybe he is too busy dazzling the kids at the new Fast5 movie...

 

He probably ask daddy and now feels like too much of a moron. Idiot.
