Is it complete? The carb and distributor would have numbers showing the application, but I'm not aware of anything on the block that would show it. I do know 400 engines were used in Vista Cruiser wagons, I don't think they were used in any of the full sized cars. I'm sure others will add more to clarify this for you. John

Is the intake manifold for a 2-bbl carburetor or a 4-bbl carburetor? If it's a 4-bbl, it's definitely a 4-4-2 engine. If it's a 2-bbl, it could be a 4-4-2 turnpike cruiser car or a vista cruiser station wagon with the optional 400ci engine.

The 2bbl Turnpike Cruiser in the 442 was 1968, not 1969.

The reality is that there is probably no way to know for sure if the motor came from a 442 or a Vista. You can tear it apart and check the valve sizes and cam profiles. Just keep in mind that these items can be changed.

4bbl complete

The engine has a 4bbl carb . It is complete and all original as far as I know. I have it in a 70 cutlass conv. Just got it running and installed a electronic ignition.
