Edelbrock Torker manifold

I always heard the torker manifold will not clear the factory hood on 1968 442's with a 400 or 455 engine. True or false?

Thanks

It's less than 1/4" higher than a Performer. If that'll clear then the Torker should.
But there aren't too many street combos that will benefit from that intake.

I used a Torker on my 425 engine in my '66 98 when it was converted to fuel injection. The combination of the Torker and the throttle body made the setup about 1/4 inch too high to use the stock air cleaner. I run an after market air cleaner with the original decal plate on it. I don't know the exact height increase.

I'm running a Torker on my 69 with a factory Ram Rod air cleaner and under the bumper scoops. It fits under the factory hood with about a half inch to spare. I would think it would fit your 68 with no issues.

I use a torker on a oai hood with a dropped base though and it is supposed to not clear at all. I say measure it and maybe re-adjust the air cleaner.

I don't know if it will clear which is the question, but if its for street don't waste your money. As the guys with Torker/Holley I used to beat in town in a stock 442 used to find out.

I'm doing a torker Intake with a OAI hood and know what i need to do to make the Air Cleaner work with the hood. My main issue is I don't know the height that the top part of the air cleaner should be. how much does the Hood contact the foam when it is closed. I'm starting with all new stuff. Torker Intake. Edelbrock Carb. also if your standing at the front of the Car looking at the Engine at what position would the air intake for the air cleaner be clocked at. (say about 7 o' clock?) any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated
