I am close to dropping my BB back in and am trying to find out how many of the vacuum ports I will really need. The new Ebrock has about 1/2 the crap my stock intake manifold had. My first build so forgive my ignorance. No emissions concerns here. I know #1 is my heater control valve, #2 is the brake booster, #3 - ??, #4 - ??, #5 is TVS, #6 - ??. My Cutlass has PB, AT TH400, Air, Pertronix HEI, no EGR, re-built 77 Qjet w/ elec. choke. Thanks in advance.

 

1. Heater Control Valve
2. Brake booster
3. A/C control vacuum canister on firewall
4. PCV (If using manifold vacuum port on Qjet plug this hole)
5. TVS (If using TH400 remove this, it is an emissions thing...just plug this hole and secure harness / remove vacuum hoses)
6. Optional for temperature gauge (Plug if not using gauge)

 

Thanks. The stock TVS had 3 ports, labeled dist., carb., and intake manifold. You say I can just plug it? Thanks for the input. And your service.

 

Yes, you can plug the hole in the manifold and then remove the vacuum tubes, just make sure you cap the other end of the hoses. It is an emissions component that prevents the distributor from advancing until the engine is warmed up. It is activated in 1st and 2nd gear (until warm) and deactivated in 3rd and Reverse.
