I have a set of E heads on my 455 and I learned there were different valve size options. Is there a way to tell the valve size with any numbers on the heads?

It is my understanding that there is no external identification.

There is no external way to tell which valves the head had. They are the same castings and the factory cut out for the size valve they chose to install in the heads. To know for sure you have to remove the heads and measure the intake valve. John

 

I have a set of each and you cannot tell the difference until you check the valve size itself
