Digital Tach hook up to distributor 75 H/O

See pic attached. I'm supposed to hook up the "white wire" from the digital tach to the coil but I can't seem to locate the coil and I wonder if the distributor was changed out. I've read something about the changing out the old distributor for electronic ignition and if that's the case, where do I connect the digital tach's white wire.?

Where it says tach on top of the cap where the connector plugs in.

The distributor was not changed out - that is a factory HEI distributor. The coil is located under the cover, where the “bump” between the two LATCH indicators.

As said above, the tach connection is the terminal to the left of the battery terminal

That wire doesn't look factory and is much bigger gage than needed for a tachometer signal.

Well, my (un) luck is holding.. There are 3 wires that ran into the center console(probably rewired) Red, White and Blue! I checked continuity on the white wire and nothing, it's not the wire to the Tach like I was hoping. BUT I have wired the tack with the correct colored wires so will just run the white wire to the post on the Distributor.
NOW...where do I pickup the power to the tack...Since the tach was not factory, where would Hurst have tapped 12v from? I did have the tach repaired and not sure you caught that post but the repair guy said my tach took a huge voltage spike and blew out some of the components. He said to put a 1ampfuse in line on the 12+ red wire to prevent that from happening again. Thanks

I'm assuming I can hook up an external 12v power source now that I have the white pickup wire connected to the distributor and tach should work?

Switched power by ignition. Not always on power.

Got the Tach hooked up to the cigar lighter temporarily. Neat having that option restored. The car also has the motor minder option!
