Choke tubes

Not particularly, IMO. You need to find an ignition "ON" source for 12V. Ensure power is off when key is off. Ensure you use no gasket between the electric choke guts and the housing. You may insulate it from being grounded. Unless it has a separate ground wire. The little hole in the choke housing for vacuum is so tiny, you probably wouldn't even need to worry about plugging it, but you can if you wish.
Only thing about the choke tube into the intake is that you would need to find the appropriate gasket (exhaust gasket material) GM p/n 22547859. I don't know if they even make this aftermarket or not. Not sure if it even comes in an engine gasket kit or not in case someone has one laying around they don't need.
Or, you could buy a "kit" of new aftermarket tubes from these places. About $45 total. When still available from GM, they were $$$. For small pieces of tubing. Go figure.

I had to convert mine as the Performer RPM intake doesn’t have the choke tube port. I did as said above, with the only addition being a tubing cap on the air inlet port to keep debris out.
I will say that I prefer the hot air choke, it just seemed to work better.

I found the Felpro gasket number for the choke heater tube- p/n 72586.
The GM part number for manifold heater tube stove for the 73-90 V8 is 412620. Don't know what, if any, differences there are. The Parts Place lists their tube heater to be a replacement for 412620 so if that's true, it should fit. The aftermarket one is probably all made by the same place, so it's likely there's no difference as to where you buy it.
