Carburetor help
Well for the past five days My 1969 Oldsmobile delta 88 455 continue stalling while driving always had to wait like 15 minutes then car will start back, i figured it was the carburetor which is a 1407 edelbrock, so I swap the 1405 edelbrock from my el camino and the delta quit stalling and ran great, I currently have an edelbrock 27301 455 TORKER manifold my question is which 4bl Rochester 800 CFM or 750 CFM I can install with my TORKER 455 EDELBROCK manifold without adding any plates can anybody help I search carburetor compatibility with this manifold and found very limited info any help? alot of people on the forum plain recommend a Rochester carburetor for our vehicles so I would like to go that route thanks in advance for any help
Your intake should not require anything to bolt on a qjet. Your heat crossover port should already be blocked if you're using the Edelbrock carb. The best carb IMHO would be a '77-'80 front inlet quadrajet with electric choke. Places like Everyday Performance ,Cliff Ruggles and others specialize in qjets. It's best to have one tailored to your application. Good luck.
Everyday Performance LLC currently has this Olds toronado 455 carb built and ready to go: http://everyday-performance.com/stor...ategory=578011
We will be vending the Syracuse Nationals, you could pick it up there at the discounted show price, if youre attending.
Or Id be glad to build a carb for your application. I have a 7029251 (1969 Olds 455)core on the shelf that might be a good place to start.

The Torker intake is a spread bore intake, so any Quadrajet would bolt on. All Quadrajets have the same bolt pattern to intake.
So, which Quadrajet is right for you?
Couple of questions to ask.
Do you want to run a choke, and if so, what type? You may want to run electric choke. The hot air Oldsmobile Quadrajets can be converted to electric easily.
I always recommend running an Oldsmobile Quadrajet on an Olds engine. That is always the best starting point. Most Oldsmobile Quadrajets from 76 newer were 800 cfm capable with some correct set up.
