Carb hoses help please.

Hi there,

Well I’m at the pointy end of getting the the Olds going and just struck a problem re the carb hoses.
My photos from eight years ago when I removed the Quadrajet to put a Holley on are on a hard drive we can no longer access.
My manual does not help me nor does Google.

I have ports on the carb that I cannot remember where they go to so any answers diagrams (mud maps appreciated) photos etc will be greatly appreciated.

Also:
1/ On my photos the screw driver indicates the port I need info on where that goes to.
2/ Where does the choke connect to?
3/ where does the Throttle Return go to and do I really need this?

Thank you.

#1. Tee brass fitting - the straight larger hose goes to power brake booster. The smaller goes to the fitting on top of the fuel pump.
#2. A solid tube goes directly into the manifold (presses right in).
#3. A short piece of vac line connects to a brass tee, another short piece of vac line connects to the tee and then to solid line of throttle check return and then a long vac line connects to the tee and then to the vacuum advance on distributer.
#4. A vac line goes from the other fitting on top of the fuel pump to (for mine it goes to the deluxe heater inside the dash, I used a red tube).

I f you are calling the carb in these pictures a Quadrajet, thats a mistake. You have a typical Rochester 4GC. I would think your 1959 Olds CSM should show the vacuum lines, choke and anything else.

You're welcome.
Your engine and bay looks great. Looks like you'll be cruising soon.

I just asked for “original factory colour” not sure if it is or not.
I have a pic of my new engine and my old engine cover to compare mind you the old engine covers not sure which one is closest to factory.
