So I'm replacing the Holly carb on my 75 H/O (with a quadrajet) and I noted the Heater tubes are loose in that plate that's attached to the exhaust manifold. Looking at Fusick, I can get a set from them but it seems these tubes are merely pressed into the plate and are not permanently attached? Is that right?

Yes separate and not a super tight fit.
