carb

does enybody know what makes a 1966 toronano 7032720 A.I.R. quadrajet different from a 1966 7026250 carb,is it just as good.thanks mark

A.I.R. is pollution controlled the other is not.

i seen that but what parts or different between the two when i rebuild it can i make it non pollution controlled carb,i have a carter quadrajet off a 66 425 i wonder with is a better carb ,thanks mark

I wonder if the Chassis Service Manual says anything about it? I don't know, but since it has the air injection I would think it may have a different gas/air mix coming out of the carb. But that may be as simple as changing the rods and jets. I would guess either carb would work for you. But if your putting it on an engine with the air pump fully functional it may be wise to use the factory carb setup for that. If not, then I'd use which ever one is in the best condition. John

Use the one with the least 'slop' in the primary throtte shafts - notorious for vacuum leaks!
Bushing kits are available - follow the directions.

i looked in the service man.and the none of the air pump lines go to the carb,im putting it on none pump car.

Jets/rods and idle circuits are leaner on the AIR carb.

the carb has a remanufacturered sticker on it ,going to take it apart tomorow and i will check them parts.thanks

you have some nice cars ,i have a 64 cutlass 2 dr ht.330 280 hp buckets,auto on floor,tac, posi i got 28 years ago from a one owner 85 year old ladie ,i love that car, it has a soul.mark
