What tool do you guys use to install new camshaft bearings?
The new ones have very sharp edges so I guess they have to be installed in a gentle way.
I know there is a spec.tool for this,but it must be possible with a selfmade tool.

 

No, it isn't. Get the correct tool or risk screwing up your cam bearings.

Can't find it in Norway so I have to buy it in US.
Anybody know where to purchase them?

How do you remove the aft bearing.There is a ridge behind it so it have to be pulled out towards the front.

 

Google "cam bearing tool". You'll find many, including relatively inexpensive ones from Summit and Jegs. I bought mine used for even less. Knock out the freeze plug behind the rear cam bearing for access.

 

The one I have looks like this. The collets expand to fit the bearings tightly. The white plastic cone is for centering the tool. I believe mine is Lisle brand.
