I was looking into changing cam in my 67 ,400 because of the lifter bore angle cam grinds are limited. Is there any one that does good custom grinds? I like the 1969 W-32 specs.
The '69 W-32 cam is the same as any '68-9 442 400-G manual trans application, so it's not exactly a custom grind. If you absolutely must have a "vintage" cam that discounts everything we've learned in the last 45 years about cam technology, check out Crane's "Blueprint" series. I believe their specs are exactly what was used in the '60s and '70s.
The guys at any of the reputable cam suppliers should be familiar with the lifter bore dilemma and can help you find a way around it.

My '69 400G has been pretty happy with a Comp Cams XE262H (218/224 @ 0.050, 0.462/0.469) and I have a TH400 and 3.08s too. A lot of people here at CO don't like Comp Cams too much, feeling them to be a little Chevy-centric, but my experience has been good.
One thing to consider though: your 400E will rev better than my 400G, so there might be a little more available on top if you have a more aggressive cam, but of course this comes at the expense of low-end and mid-range.
I'd be surprised if they don't make one that would be compatible with your engine.

Your car MAY have the 45 degree bores. Or it may have 39 degree bores. My memory is a little dicey on that. I believe it was a running change Olds may have phased in during the '67 model year. Hopefully somebody will chime in with the correct info.
Colorado? No, what gave you that idea? Do I sound high?

The turnpike was given to me by my best friend from high school . He bought it off an estate it had been stolen and wrecked. He fixed it and had it painted. He was driving it to a car show and it started smoking out of the tail pipes . Because it wasn't a 442 he sold it. The guy he sold it to had it for 10 years and never did any thing with it. He Hadit in a garage when they got 18 inches of snow the garage collapsed on the car. He called my friend told him if he wanted it come and get it.image.jpg
I always thought those TCs were pretty cool. Great highway cars. Maybe you should restore it rather than modifying. Even with the 2 barrel, it has the torque of a 442 (and all in by 2400 RPM to boot) -- that ain't too shabby!
Good picture. Post more if you got 'em!
