I think it will work well with your engine. 3.73 or 3.90 gears would have it hauling the mail. An 850 carb would be nice as well, but you can get away with the 750 for now.

Your combination doesn't make sense. You're using an RPM intake, that's for higher rpms. But then conversely you're using a 750 (not enough with the RPM intake) and a single pattern cam. It should be one or the other.

Thats why i was asking. Not going to dyno. So i should go with a bigger carb then. How about the converter any ideas? Before i spun a bearing it had unported j heads with a performer intake and a 670cfm street evenger and a comp cam 268h. It was dyno tested with that and i believe made 420 hp/ 515tq. Car ran best of 13.0 flat 1/4 mile on street tires. With my new setupand say a bigger carb any idea what type of gains i might be looking at. I got the heads very cheap and the flow data with them. Told the custom cam shop what i had and the cam i picked was one of three hyd. Flat tappets he recomended. I went with the middle one.

71 A-body 3700#
3.73 gears
Th-400
27" tires

The RPM intake has a small plenum, you need at least an 850.
What are the flow numbers on the heads?
Interested to know what the other cam choices were as well.

Intake 500 lift-266
Exhaust 500 lift-194
Int. 600 lift 278
Ex. 600 lift 200

Mark I'm not sure the full specs on the other cams but the lower one i believe was 236-238 duration and the higher one was like a 246 duration. Knowlton thunderhead did the heads out of MN so thats who i contacted for a cam. Told them my setup and they contacted cam shop and then got back to me with three options. Any idea what it might do for power. Also converter recomendations. Thanks
