3 years ago I paid $400.00 for an original 68 Toronado 455, low miles, 10.25 compression, nodular crank, C heads. I cleaned it, installed new cam bearings, cam, lifters, valve springs, had the heads machined, drilled the crank for a speed and added a HV oil pump. Threw on my performer intke, 750 Demon and sow W-30 exhaust manifods. She runs great

I don't think it's worth 600.
72 is already low compression, and re assembling with aftermarket gaskets will put you at like 8.2-1.

X2. You have to assume that the motor needs to be completely gone through, since is was disassembled for a reason. Assume it's a core. $300 max, probably less.

$600 might be a bit high. But if you can't find anything else then it isn't too bad. Show up to the guy's house with $400 cash and a pick up and take it home yourself. If he doesn't take it he is a fool.
