Bernard Mondello - Aluminum Heads

Just a few hours ago, introduced a set of aluminum heads to the members of ROP for $630 pr. bare, and $1150 complete w/intake!!
Prices good 'til the end of the year!!
That's almost cheaper than re-doing a pair of cast heads, and the flow numbers are better than stock!! I - [I - 250@.650, E - 177@.650]
Might be chinese, don't know the quality, buyer beware!

Complete description, pictures, and other info at ROP!!

Core shift, physical weight, quality of the aluminum, hardness of the aluminum, this is the difference between a china head and a American casting, if you want make big ported HP and have it last use American castings.

Like a fat guy on a waterslide, we're moving but we're not really getting anywhere. Sure wish someone with a set of Pro-Comps would speak up about their quality so we can put this one to bed before Bruce and Nick kill each other lol!

Lets keep this thread on track guys or its going to have to be locked. I am still curious to see real world results about these heads. Its been over a year. Has any bolted a set to a motor and driven down the strip or even the street?

So, what do you get for your $630? The castings look decent besides the rough areas around the spark plug holes. I don't think the ports as cast will support much power and I doubt they flow any better than a stock iron head. If ported I would guess they will flow similar to a ported iron head. But, if they prove to be reliable without any issues I'd rather use them over a factory iron head because they are lighter and they just make the motor look better. Edelbrocks would be a much better choice for a serious performance motor but these would be OK for a weekend cruiser that rarely sees the drag strip. I'm OK with them for the price.
