Another Pulley question/issue
Another Pulley question/issue
I'm putting the accessories on the front of the engine that I have been piecing together and im having alignment issues with the pulleys. I have purchased a new water pump, but I bought it based off a 1970 cutlass with 455 the engine came out of a 73-76 car so the snout on the pump is not long enough so my WP pulley is sitting to close to the pump. i bought the AC/ HD cooling water pump. 5.552" if I look up a wp from 73 its 5.95" Do I need to just order a new pump or can I run a different pulley? My crank pulley is KS, water pump is KF and power steering is KH. If easier I will just get the longer water pump but I cant return the one I already have because I painted it like a idiot before I checked all fitment. any help will be appreciated thank you in advance!

I think you need to get the correct length water pump.
Be aware that the 1970 and older water pump has a larger inlet hose nipple than the later 1971-up pump, so you need to match that to your radiator. You can get a rubber sleeve to use the larger diameter hose on the smaller diameter radiator outlet if necessary.
