Accelerator cable help needed
I have my rebuilt 455 w/quadrajet in my '64 C10 but don't have the accelerator cable yet. I was about to buy a stock Oldsmobile cable until I saw the overall measurement of about 22 inches. When I measured the distance from my quadrajet accelerator cable bracket to where it will attach at my firewall is right at 12 inches, basically the black sheath would be 12".
Would anyone be able to tell me how long the stock Olds cable sheath is? I don't want to buy one if it is too long where it will cause issues with the cable movement.
Thanks for any help!

They were made to various lengths that put a bit of "curvature" in them when installed. You have to have a bit of slack to compensate for engine movement (torquing), etc.
The sheath lengths vary according to the application.
The sheath is around 12-1/4" long on a '70 442 cable (455 motor in the Abody)....I just measured an original and a repro cable. That is JUST the length of the black sheathed part.....doesn't include the black plastic "clip in" portions at either end of the sheathing.
You may want something a bit longer.....other cables may be longer or shorter as far as the sheathing distance goes. I'll try to check some other ones I have from 2 bbl 350 Cutlass's, etc.
