.921 Lifter 66 442 Big Block

I am in need of two lifters for a 1966 Olds 442 Big Block. This is a true 442 so it has some differences from standard 400.

the lifters are .921.

does anyone out there have two. I can’t afford to purchase a whole set. That would cost a whopping $643 minimum.

please help direct me

All 66/67 400 442 engines had .921 lifters. The 400 was not available in any other A-Body except the 67 Turn Pike Cruisers with 400 engine but also used the .921's.. The 425's had .921 and .842's depending.

I never said a thing about 67. I am talking about a 66 big block 400 442.

.E '66 - '67 400 390925 442 engine [VERY rare]

I see some people try to pawn their car as a 442
But you take one look and it has 330 or 350.

you are incorrect to say that the 400 did not come in A body 1966. If you are trying to say something else then please let me know

The only A-Body car that got the 400 was the 66 & 67 442's. The blocks are the same for both years, same casting #'s. The 67 Cutlass Turn Pike Cruisers were also 400 engines and used the same block with .921 lifters. Got no idea where the 330 came into the equation as they were not used in the 442's. I'm talking about 66/67 not the 68/69 400's that used the .842 lifters. The 65 400 442 engine also .921 lifters but were a 45* bank angle block unlike the 66/67 39* blocks.

Heads Up

Heads up to all. I am looking for just two lifters for a 1966 400 442 with the .921 lifters.

whether or not the 400 was in this car or that car or turnpike cruisers etc… Whether or not the lifters were in all of these or some of theses - I don’t care. All I tried to do is be as specific as possible in my initial post. I believe any 442 Oldsmobile lover would know what I was asking.

peace to all

Never built a 65 400 and was under the assumption they didn't use the .842's in a 400 till 68. I knew they were 45* bank angle for sure. I stand corrected & see you can learn something.

B blocks are unique. They have some minor differences than later castings. The baffle for the oil tube is cast in, the front galley plugs have the same size thread and both are usually drilled. The deck has about .060 more material in the valley area requiring more clearance work with 3/8 push rods. The core holes on the deck are different than later blocks. The cylinder was are very thick. They are almost flush all the way down from the deck. I do have one in my garage now that I would like to have it sonic checked if I get a chance.
