Is it in a car that they can hear run and drive before they buy it? If not, most people will not pay more than core price. For yous, maybe core price plus a little extra for the aftermarket external parts. I would guess around $1000. If it is in a car and they can drive the engine first then it would go up
Thanks for the reply. The engine is still in the car, but has been totaled, so they won't be able to drive it. I'm working toward getting it started, but since the accident there is an electrical problem, so it's a maybe.
Where was the car hit ??? Unless there is some way to run vitals on the engine like an engine run stand and do all the checks like leak down test compression test etc etc etc. sell it in parts and you will probably get the most that way.
To get it to run just run power to the coil+ terminal from the battery, switched power or a temporary jumper to the solenoid to crank it, and have a gravity feed fuel supply to the carb. Once running to turn it off just disconnect the jumper wire to the coil+ terminal.
The car slid sideways into a steep ditch and rolled onto the top. It shouldn't have affected the engine, other than oil draining into the cylinders while upside down, so I've removed the plugs to make sure any oil can get out, but there's no power to crank it over. The battery is fully charged, so I'm thinking there must be a short, or bad fuse.
