69 Toronado 455 into a Cutlass Supreme 350

Ok fellas, first question ive got for yall. We have a 72 Cuttlass Supreme that came with the factory 350. We got a 455 out of a 69 toro. Im wondering if the motor mounts should line up or will we have to move the mounts . Also if anyone can think of any other issues we might run into, id appreciate it. thanks ahead of time for any help yall can give.

There are a lot of threads on this topic. Use the 350 mounts and you should be fine. Possibly the alt bracket wont bolt to the power steering bracket if you have A/C. You'll need a 1 inch spacer. I think exhaust might be different. Might check on that. 350 tranny will bolt up but might not handle the power of the 455.

That's pretty much what we was figuring on, didn't think anything bout the alternator bracket though. We have a trans out of a 68 442 so I don't think that's going to be the problem

All 455 blocks are externally identical. The Toro oil pan will clear the Cutlass crossmember. As noted, use the motor mounts from the 350 (Anchor P/N 2261 if you buy new ones). Use the accessory brackets, water pump, and pulleys from the 350 as a matched set to avoid belt misalignment (you'll need the correct longer belts for a 455). Be sure to install the two spacers between the PS pump bracket and the block. You will need the correct exhaust manifolds or headers for a BBO in a Cutlass. If you want manifolds, use the W/Z manifolds from a 1969-72 BBO A-body. Repros are available. You can swap the starter nose from your 350 starter for the one on the Toro starter to get a RWD high torque starter.

Thanks guys, big help. Now we know pretty much what to look out for. Ive never done a swap like this. My dad has but its been a long time and he always had engines out of rear wheel drive cars. The exhaust is already set up. The guy we got it from had started on it but it wound up sitting in the shed in pieces. We actually still have a lot of oddball pieces and parts sitting in his shed. Good thing my dad is real old/good friends with the guy or we probably wouldn't get the rest of it.

The oil filter bracket has to be changed.
