Joe, I just realized something. The bolts that sticks out of the block (the bottom "A") , am I supposed to remove that bolt from the block? I left it in. Maybe that is my problem . I was not sure if I was supposed to remove that bolt from the block
I think I see the B bolt. I can barely get a light and wrench on it. I may be able to get it off , but I am scared I would not get it back on. May hat goes off who ever did this before. Too bad because I can't get the pump off without removing the PS bracket.
These are the same belts you took off? Did you tension the PS pump belt first? Did you loosen all three fasteners holding the PS pump to the bracket (two behind the pulley plus the nut on the back)?
Thank you Joe - silly me I had not put on the center pulley yet. Well all put back together. Installed two large hoses and since the Generator Light has been on for the last 6 months, I installed a new altenator since it was not much and it was old so I replaced it anyway. Well started it up and ran it for 15 minutes and it started right up and so far so leaks! It is a miracle - thank you God and Joe and Sugar Bear!! Wow that was something. If it was not for the power steering it would not be so bad.
Well the good news is no more leaks - knock on wood. I thought I had the A/C belt tight but that seems to be a little loose.

Reason: edited because a new thread was started for the alt issue.
By the way as a recap the new water pump is installed and working fine. Thanks again! I was able to remove the water pump by gently bending the power steering bracket just enough out of the way to allow the removal of the water pump. I did not want bend the power steering pump bracket, but I could not remove bolt "B" like Joe posted on his diagram. Fortunately I did not distort anything and it installed properly afterwards.
Just in case I ever had to do this again, I want to revisit the removal of the power steering bolt "B". It took me 3 days to do this job and I wasterd one full day wasting time because I could not remove all of the power steering pump bracket nuts. If I did it correctly, I was able to get a wrench on bolt "B", but I could not loosen the bolt because there was not circular room to turn the nut. The only thing I think of to remove that nut is if I had a air socket wrench. However, I don't think they had air socket wrenches in 1967 so how do y'll remove bolt B? Am I missing something? Do you have challenges removing all of the power steering nuts (this is for a 1968 Olds Delmont 88 with a 455 and A/C).
