'65 425 Fuel System
I recently purchased a 1965 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 with a 425 engine. The car has been sitting for about a year and it was parked with a empty gas tank. I've started the engine by running a hose from the fuel pump directly into a gas can just to see if the car runs but would like to find out what is the easiest way to pump fuel from the tank to the fuel pump without running down the battery.

If you have allready ran the car and have fuel in the carb, you won't have a problem. If you want to make sure the tank or line is clear before adding gas, stick line from tank to pump in a bucket or jug and give a burst of air from a blowgun wrapped in a rag into the fuel fill.

I blew out the fuel line, added 10 gallons of fuel and she started right up!!!. Now the next question is the casting for the air cleaner mounting stud is gone. Do I have any options other than replacing the carburetor?

I went ahead and replaced the carburetor with a rebuilt unit after finding out the car had been driven only 3,000 miles in 15 years. The old carb was gummed up and with the broken casting it was easier just to replace it. I have the car running good but was wondering how many turns out do the two small air screws need to be to start with?. Right now they are at 2 1/2 turns out

You need a dwell tach or a vacuum gauge to set your idle mixture. 2-1/2 turns sounds just a little rich.
Use the tach to set base idle speed, then turn the idle mixture screws in alternately and evenly 1/8 turn at a time until idle speed drops by 30-50 rpm. Then turn the screws out 1/8 turn which will be lean best idle.
To further fine tune it, connect vacuum gauge to manifold vacuum and adjust screws for highest vacuum reading at idle.
Reset base idle speed to correct rpm which should be 500-600 rpm in Drive on that engine.
