455 swap or rebuild 350
I was thinking about rebuilding the engine in my delta 88 its a 350 it overheated last summer on me gonna change the water pump and thermastat. I was also thinking about putting in a 455 I need some ideas also any good rebuild shops in Chicago area?

Change the water pump and thermostat...save yourself money
If you are going to rebuild the 350, it would cost you more to throw in a 455 as you would have to buy the block, crank, rods, etc. BUT!!! You would definitely be happy with the end result. All up to you.

Check to see if you can find someone with a complete motor (455) still in their car so you can test drive it first or at least hear it. I just sold my 350 for the swap and left it in the car for the buyer to hear, it made it much easier and it sold the next day. Just keep an eye out there, I have a friend from Chicago that builds nothing but Oldsmobiles.
