I’d probably pull the heads at least. Cam specs are a bit odd and I kinda doubt it has titanium anything in the valvetrain. Just sayin.

Forgive me, but I just poured my first cup of coffee. What is that where the oil filter goes?

Can’t comment on the cam specs, rely on those more knowledgeable about that. Being from a totaled car is favorable since it wasn’t pulled due to an engine problem. As far as pulling it apart, pull the valve covers, plugs and oil pan and if it looks excellent then do a leak down test. Look in cooling system ports for excessive corrosion, could hurt head gaskets. If leak down test results are good check a couple of rod and main bearings. If all looks good and tests ok then leave it alone unless you want to open it up farther.

Good luck!!!

Relocation kit. What you re seeing is the adapter that screws to the oil filter mount and the hoses connect to the remote mount for the filter.

Thanks guys, what is the reason for remote oil? Is it a filter relocation or a coil needed to cool also??

It can be for multiple reasons. Clearance is the usual one, but also just for ease of access if it is difficult to get off, but not impossible. It is also an easy way to add a little more capacity tot he system depending on how long the lines are.

In the original post you asked about headers. I would stay with manifolds. Headers were just too much aggravation from a maintenance perspective. Just my $0.02!

Goodluck!!!
