That san-serif "F" was used on 1968-70 455 blocks. I don't know where you got the idea that this is a 70-72 block. It's a 1968 VIN derivative.

the curved oil fill tube is 1968 A/C ONLY
here's a pic of the casting number & the casting date "134" = WEDNESDAY May 13, 1968
the car - probably a 98, 8M406001 was assembled late May or early June
WAG - the date on your block is around "050" = MONDAY February 19, 1968 ????
