Question 455 engine gasket kits

Pardon if this has been asked before. I'm seeking feedback on various engine gasket kits.

I'm pulling the engine of a 70 SX for inspection and to replace all the leaky seals/gaskets. The engine has C heads (not sure if ported), Edelbrock performer intake, an upgraded cam, cylinders have been bored (no idea how much, yet), roller rockers, and stock exhaust manifolds.

I'm willing to spend up to $275.

FelPro is the "standard". Cheap and cheery. I usually buy one of those to have everything then add some alternates. The FelPro oil filter adapter gasket is actually really good. FelPro's Olds 350 Diesel oil pan gasket set is really nice - metal reinforced instead of all cork.
Then there's the common use of a rubber lip gasket instead of the rear rope seal.
I prefer the SCE fiber intake gaskets, but that's your call on whether to go with the turkey tray or a fiber gasket.

I have a set available for $276.00

No really, I use Mr Gasket #5981. It's a great set, but no valley tray.

I agree with using Felpro. I've used Felpro exclusively in any engine build. Never had any issues with any of their gaskets or seals.

The complete sets all seem to have cheap head gaskets, cork or rubber valve cover and oil pan gaskets, and rope rear seal. So,

Mix N Match. What I'm doing:
460 Ford rear main seal, Felpro: QBS40032
Felpro Oil pan gasket OS30471C
Felpro timing cover set
Felpro Valve cover gasket 1658 (composite re-usable)
Mr Gasket head gaskets
Mr Gasket Intake gaskets 4695G

And what ever I left out, use "The Right Stuff", or I already have them on hand from other kits.

Hey Mark,
What kind of valve cover and oil pan gasket does that kit use? What about rear main? Otherwise it looks like the intake, exhaust, and head gaskets I like.

I have heard about doing the rear seal with the ford rear seal, do you just trim the seal to fit???

Mark,
the gasket set you listed does not include a bunch of gaskets.
Do you fill in what is missing or is there a different part number?
