Post 455 ci engine

Doing some research;

Question;
for a 1970 olds 442 that was built in the 3rd week of November 1969;
on the 455 ci 365 hp engine, what would the single production year cast number by the distributor be?
a 3 or would it be a 2 ?....plus the Julian date of around September
Thanks
Joe

if you go by the THEORY that the single digit is the calendar year for that type casting, which does not always hold true, then the first 455 blocks were cast in 1967 so:
1=1967
2=1968
3=1969 etc

your block would have been cast ~sept 1969

Julian dates for Sept are ~243-272

so

3
243

thru

3
272

for september, but other Julians are also possible.
