found a core 455,dont know if i should buy the rear oil gallery plug is welded up.Anyone have any idea why this would be done?Should i stay away from this one?

I would. 455 blocks aren't that hard to come by. I would wait till a better one comes along. Brandon reynolds

I don't know why you would ever need to weld it. How would you go about removing it? Sooner or later,you would need it out when you have it rebuilt.

a block is a block, as long as you can remove the plug and it doesn't have a spun main bearing or cracked it should be ok, buy it for cheap, tell the seller if its bad you want your $ back

Yeah i think i will stay away it is at an engine shop and they cant drill it?Did not make any sense to me.455 blocks up here not to easy to come by i have been looking for a bit.Everything up here is crushed or not worth it.

What part of the world are you in? Have you tried a parts wanted thread? If you do include your location or the nearest large city. Hopefully someone nearby will come up with what you need.
