455" Assembly Tip

455" Assembly Tip
We are in the process of assembling a 455" with some Eagle conn rods, stock crank, stock stroke and had an issue AFTER the pan and pump was installed.
You have to look closely at the distance between the cotter pin in the oil pump housing and the number 8 connecting rod as it goes through it's cycle! The one rod bolt ended up contacting the head of the pin.
Just touching enough to make a very slight "ticking" sound while turning the short block over.
Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
P.S. Had we been doing a stroker it probably would have been somewhat closer still.
