it is a 455 from??

I have a complete 72 455 engine from what i can tell. Is there anw way to identify if it is from a 442 or W-30? Probably is just a delta 88 engine. The only thing i can come up with is if i take the heads off and measure the valves. Is this correct? the discription is---

Block 396021F near the oil tube
Head Ga 409-100
Head 32M507170
F5 near fly wheel on the back
Near distributor 50
Oil filler tube 246039

I believe it is a 1972 455, what else is there to look for?
It was running good 10,12 years ago then I took it out and it sat in a shed, it is now stuck. I will eventually take it apart inspect it and sell it.
Maybe i should just sell it like it is but what is it worth like this?
Thanks for any of your thoughts.

if the "32M507170" is on the forward side of the block below the driver's side head:

3 = Oldsmobile
2 = 1972
M = Lansing, MI
507170 = last 6 digits of the full-size (88/98/CustomCuiser) it came from

What is the very first number on the oil filler tube, providing it is the original to the engine.
If it has never been out of the engine, the very first number is the year of the engine.
But you say it has "Ga" heads it most likely a '72.

Did they use this format in 68 also? I would really like to know more about my engine. Thanks

I have a 455 from a 69 delta 88 I took out of the car. If they were doing serial numbers on the heads in I can check that one tomorrow.

455 id

Won't the distributor number help ID the block (assuming it hasn't been replaced)? I think 442s and W30s got a different distributor than the lesser motors. With this info you could tell if it came out of a 442 or W30. Right?
