425 fuel pump to carb hard line
425 fuel pump to carb hard line
I searched and searched, but no luck.
I bought a hard line from Inline Tube for my 425 Toro motor and I cannot figure out how it is supposed to go on.
I must be missing something or they sent me the wrong tube.
Maybe I have the wrong pump?
Can any of you post a photo of the pump/tube/carb?
Thanks,

Sorry, I can't send you a pic. But the pump-to-carb fuel line is notorious for being made wrong by just about everybody. If you're lucky it's simply routed a little differently than the factory-original line but the ends will still hook up properly. But sadly it's usually worse than that.
That said, you could have the wrong pump, the wrong carb, a different intake manifold, a carb spacer, .....

I don't know if it's the same for the non-FWD cars, but I have a 425 in my '67 Delta 88 that I bought a new pump-to-carb line for, and I bought it from Inline Tube. It fit fine.
If it would be of help to you, I can take a picture of it and post it.

I went out and snapped some photos. Yes, I know the engine shouldn't be gold, but that's what the previous owner painted it, and I haven't repainted it yet.
I actually went for the higher-cost stainless steel line instead of the regular base-metal line. That actually turned out to be somewhat of a mistake as it took about a half-dozen or so remove-and-install sequences where it connects to the pump to stop it from leaking. I was told that this could happen as stainless is harder, and it takes more effort to get the metal-to-metal seal to form and hold. But it finally did stop leaking, and it's been several years now with no problems.

Thanks,
Their part was about 10-15 degrees off proper angle, and interfered with the thermal valve on the intake. Could not be bent to correctness w/o destroying it so I sent all three back. I even offered to make [for free] a test fit jig that they could use to verify a first run part for correct fit so they would not make more crap in the future. They did not accept.
I promised to tell the ending to the story when they admitted to the many [around 20] provable lies they set forth on the chat site, and apologized for asserting that I had sold cracked heads as "H" replicas. Still wating.... they took another route, surprisingly enough.

Ha Ha
Chris, I was half waiting to hear from you on this.
I am well aware I am dealing with the devil here thanks to your past posts.
Was just hoping to get lucky, but no, I'm pretty sure this tube was made by the ILT randomizer bender.
I think I'll just send it back and get some nice fuel line to use...
