Smile 4 speed crank?

So is this the candidate for 4 speed bushing upgrade, I need the specs to make it happen. Machine for bearing or bushing, want the best option for reliability.

It's a nodular AT crank, no different than any other one the factory used to machine the MT pilot bearing recess.

Here's an old thread that has the details on how to drill/cut the crank for a pilot bearing or bushing. Joe, maybe the drawing on this thread would be good to make a sticky for?

Is this a manual trans. crank? - ClassicOldsmobile.com

The above is correct for the stock Bower 1709 bearing or Dorman -023 bronze bushing. I like to use either a Chevy bushing or Auto Gear (better material), and get the crank machined for it, to the depth needed for good engagement to the transmission input. If using an SFI bellhousing and block plate, the transmission will be farther away (usually about 0.14")..

Will this spec drawing be used for the bushing or the bearing?

Andy, great pics of the way things go together for the clutch assembly.
I did find out that since my car was originally an ‘automatic’, it doesn’t have the tab that’s welded to the frame, to mount the bell crank to. But I found the tab at The Parts Place and ordered it.
it appears I have all of the pieces for the clutch/pedal assembly.
Thanks again for the photos… very helpful! May need more if you don’t mind.

Reo, I’m pretty sure it will be a bronze bushing.
