29251RJ Electric Choke

Anyone find a good option for an electric choke for the 29251RJ carburetor?

I've spent some time researching some conversations. I believe this carb linkage is set up for a divorced choke. However, the cast 4bbl manifold I have is a 1970-72, and set up for a "regular" hot tube choke.

I am thinking of just blocking off the original choke location, and would like to use that 29251RJ on that cast manifold...since I already have the big pieces.

Anyone done it successfully and have a set up they like?

Thanks,
pigs

There are many electric choke coils that can take the place of the hot air coil. Just remove the black cover and its gasket, install the electric choke cover, connect to a switched 12 Volt source, and adjust as needed. You can leave all the choke air tubes in place.

I converted mine from hot air to electric out of necessity as the Performer RPM intake doesn’t have the hot air port, and I will say I liked the way the hot air choke worked better than the electric choke.

Appreciate the reply. I've found plenty of options. I guess I am wondering if the carb linkage on the 29251RJ is specific to a divorced choke and therfore requires a specific electric choke conversion kit.

I would prefer to use the stove pipe, but as I was saying, the carb is set up for the divorced style. Again, I don't know if the linkage is different?

Yes, it is different - I didn’t realize the carb was a divorced choke model. I think there is an electric choke conversion for the divorced choke.
