Yes indeed! Grp 1.219 radiator charts, radiator. Complete with factory and service part numbers, core sizes and all. 2nd section 1.219 gives the OE part numbers.
1970:
F85 V8 Y72 (HD cooling)- code EC 2.70" core thickness (4-row)
F85 455 eng C60 exc Y72 (A/C w/o HD cooling)- EC
F85 V8 HD rad exc Vista Cruiser- EC
ED is same apps as EC with 1.26" thick core.
L6 Y72; F85 V8 exc C60, Y72 or VO1- FA 1.26" core thickness (2-row)
F85 350 eng C60 exc Y72- FA
3200, 3600, 4200, 4400 HD radiator- FA
FD is same apps as FA with fewer fins. FB is same specs/apps as FA. FE and FI are same apps as FA with 1.98" thick core. (3-row)
The book also lists 71-73 if you need any of those.
My 1968 PIM shows the same codes for '68. Per the above and my PIM, I think my '68 4-4-2 with AC should have the ED unit. It does not. Though it has a four-row top plate, the radiator installed is a 3-row FE unit for a 350 or L6. Eventually I want to correct this, but in the meantime I'm just looking for info. The incorrect radiator has IA and CA tanks. Does anyone know what the "30" represents?
By any chance, does anyone know of a chart that breaks down what tanks, core thickness/depth, etc., were associated with each radiator Code? I.E. What tanks were on an ED coded radiator?
Rocketraider, do you mind me asking where you got your data, re: thickness, rows, etc.? Is it documented somewhere "official?" Is this from you personal observation? None of my three various parts books gives this level of info.
30 refers to the transmission cooler inside the passenger side tank. I do not know of any source showing the parts that make up a specific radiator. You may want to PM RocketDevo, he seems to have been gathering this type of info.

Hey, Shifty, that is what I was thinking before I read through the threads, but mine is a 4-speed and does not have a trans cooler within the rad. I've read in the various threads that the 30 represents a "part number" or perhaps "version number" of the design of the core tubes and fins.
That info came from a November 1973 printing parts book. It would have been accurate for service parts at that time.
Entirely possible part numbers had been superseded at that time, but that was only a few years removed from production.
Let me dig that book out tomorrow and see if it has 68 radiator info. If it doesn't I think Joe P has a 68 or 69 dated parts book that might have that info.
I don't have anything that breaks down tank usage. A Harrison Radiator catalog might.

Do you know for fact your radiator does not have the internal transmission cooler? When I was investigating radiators I do not recall the 68-72 A bodies with manual transmissions having specific transmissions.
The aformentioned charts that were posted are not entirely correct.
As far As the EC/ ED rad code tags are concerned.
EC is the V01. It is a mandatory radiator for certain vehicles from the factory.
The ED is identical to the EC, but is the Y72 heavy duty radiator.
Not to be confused with HD Cooling.
The ED radiator was an option you ordered at the dealership.
Hope this helps.
