1967 Throttle Cable Conversion
1967 Throttle Cable Conversion
Has any one converted a 1967 442 over to a cable setup instead of the factory throttle linkage setup? If so how did you do it and where did you get the parts. Thanks
if the firewall is the same as 66, i got a setup out of a later 70's hatchback nova that bolted right to my firewall and has a cable setup. idk if it makes a difference that my car started as a 6 cyl car
the plastic pivot part bolted right to my car, i didnt drill a single hole. i did cut and shorten the rod that holds the cable to better fit the car although i believe it may work as a simple bolt on.

Hmm that's an idea. I do have a brand new stainless steel lokar throttle cable on the shelf from something else that I could use but I would need to get a lokar pedal and carb bracket. I would like to stay clear of that because we want to run a more stock look. So idk where we are going to go with it.
I used my stock, throttle linkage on my 455 for the first ride after replacing the 330. All proud,we took to the highway and topped out at about 50 mph. The stock linkage didn't have much throw to open the carburetor, but I was cruising.
I will confess, I have one Chevy part on my car. The throttle lever and firewall bracket from an Impala fit and worked perfectly with my custom carb linkage.
