1965 425 A-Heads Rocker Arm Pivots

Hey everybody,
I have a 1965 425 in my Delta 88 with A-Heads with the 3/8 rocker arm studs (big A cast in the corner) and my valve train was a complete mess. Just put new valves and springs in the heads and also wanted to replace the rocker arms. Unfortunately Rockauto send me the ones for the 5/16 studs so they wont fit and i can´t find the correct pivots anywhere, except for 5 NOS on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/64-65-Oldsm...IAAOSwiFBehjnB
The valves and springs I put in are stock specs (Qualcast 10-1457 and 10-974, 32884D) and the camshaft, the lifters and the pushrods are all still stock.

Does anybody know where you can get the originals or which aftermarket rockers would work either without changing the pushrods or if you already know which pushrod length is required.
Thank you for your help!

Hi,

To my understanding, 65 330, 400 and 425 used a 1 year only 3/8 threaded stud, so if you can find a low mileage donor, not sure on aftermarket options

Maybe put a post in the parts wanted

Good luck,

Hey,
thanks for your response. I also think the aftermarkt might not have a option for this specific year. I have been looking for quite a while and have not been able to find anything.

Instead of putting used ones on the engine I think I will rather spend a little more and buy a set of roller tip stamped rockers for a 3/8 stud. Does anyone have a combo recomendation that works great? Would be perfect to know the pushrod length before I buy anything, as shipping and duty is really expensive and I pretty much can´t just try stuff and send it back...

Hi again,

When I refreshed my 65 330 I used Rocket racing adjustable kit, believe it is a combo of Ford roller tip rockers, seemed to work well, as I only ran for a short time as a replacement valve spring broke, don't believe it had anything to do with the kit.

There maybe better options so hopefully people with more experience will chime in

Regards,

You can use the 1966 and later stock rockers merely by drilling out the pedestals for 3/8" grade 8 bolts.

It looks like I will mill the pivots for the set I bought to look the same as the original ones and then drill the hole for a 3/8 bolt. This way I dont have to mess with pushrod lenghts and everything will hopefully work like factory.

I will keep you guys posted...
