4 speed console

Just removed my conosle and notice a piece of lower plastic taken out towards the boot. Was this done by the factory or was it broken some time ago.

Is this on a 70-72? Is the piece in question on the passenger side towards the front of console? If so this is correct. I think this was done because of the 4 speed hump.

Yes, its for a 1970 and yes, its on the front side but on the driver side. Thanks

I'll back Shifty Sidney on this - factory method was to cut these on the driver's side for hump clearance. I've seen various degrees of cutting though on the four or five '72 4 speed cars that I've had.
